I saw this simple mandate on a decorative plaque in a store recently and fell in love. What a positive statement! It’s simply great advice. (Pun intended.)
We are surrounded and at times bombarded with negativity. News stations seem to compete with each other to see who can lead with the highest number of tragic stories (Sunday nights are the worst!) Social media (Facebook in particular) is riddled with what I call “snark.” Witty digs via memes can be entertaining, yes, but only as a seasoning – like salt that brings out the flavor in food. However, too much and you’ve ruined the dish.
This past week has been rather stressful and culminated on Friday with a series of unfortunate events very early in the morning. However, even though I experienced aggravation, I had some glaringly good great support from unexpected sources. These “angels” that came
across my path were so abundantly apparent, I felt compelled to acknowledge them in a post on my personal Facebook page. I was then inspired to look for my “angels” and count my blessings and started posting whenever I saw an “angel” in action. It feels good, freeing and even lightening when I look for the good. I feel like it’s not only important, but vital to our mental and physical well-being to do so!
So. Find the good, I say.
